John Paul Goedken has spent most of his life in Iowa. Born in Iowa City, High School in Davenport, and architecture school at Iowa State, he has covered the state. After a master’s degree in structural engineering from Purdue and over 3 years working for SOM in Chicago, he brings a passion for learning to each project. Whether learning involves the “next generation” architects or engineers, or even seasoned professionals- he feels we all can learn and grow from every project. The profession is constantly evolving.

After 15 years experience in the design profession, architecture still remains a passion for John Paul. He has served as the Iowa Architecture Foundation’s Chairman and has given many architectural tours and presentations through the IAF.
